Ride Concepts '23 Sock Line

Apparel

For the 2023 season, Ride Concepts was interested in expanding upon their sock line. I was given complete freedom to design the new line. My process began with evaluating the existing offerings and looking for areas of improvement or holes in the catalog.

Three main points stood out;

  • the socks were all very loud and colorful

  • everything utilized an 8” height

  • they did not merchandise well with the shoes (too many clashing colors)

From there, I developed a handful of different designs, each with a specific audience profile.

Core

This sock was developed for the trail rider that doesn’t like flashy gear and prefers a more traditional 6” height for long days pedaling. Subtle branding and earthy colors pair nicely with the majority of the RC shoe lineup.

Sedona

This is a wool sock for the trail rider who likes to show a little flare. The simplified southwest pattern is on trend and the 6” height is preferred by this demographic.

Rorschach

Designed with a younger rider in mind that has a more angsty outlook, this sock captures a rowdy spirit and is a bit more of a style statement.

Ride Every Day

An 8” offering for a more lifestyle application. With a L/R specific design running up the calf, this is a performance sock with a casual look.

Skully

Designed for a more lifestyle look, this sock offers a traditional rib-knit cuff with a subtle and conservative design on the front, but looks a bit more counter culture from behind with a fractured skull. Wear it to the office, but ready to shred after clocking out.
